V 4 Volunteering - volunteering

Why this project?

V4Volunteering’s main aim is to promote volunteering in sport area with focus on promoting education in and through sports combined with volunteering values, for a skill development result. The project aims at involving 44 volunteers from EU and partner countries, 40 for a short-term (group) and 4 for a long-term (individual) experiences throughout the project’s lifetime.

The activities to be implemented to achieve this aim are a mixture of raising awareness online and on-site regarding sports and volunteering in sports, organising and participating at events connected to volunteerism and sports.

 

What do we want to achieve?

 

The project's main directions are to:

  • elaborate and/or spread materials, information and news about sports and volunteering in sports opportunities

  • participate in and organise and engage the local community in at least 60 sport and volunteering related events, together with the hosted volunteers

  • develop competences of the hosted volunteers and at least 20 local volunteers for the further integration to the labour market or study continuation, during the implementation of the project

What do we want to do?

 

A1. Long-term hosting activities

  • adjustment to and acknowledgement of the local culture and areas’ specificities – photo exhibition of Baia Mare seen through their eyes

  • intensive team building and getting to know each other thus to make the work in team possible and fruitful

  • creating and distributing visibility/dissemination actions and materials of the project, throughout the entire programme; creating handmade products to increase the visibility of sports in Baia Mare

  • training regarding the sports present in Baia Mare the covered positions/equipment, meeting with teams, sport clubs and sport entities representatives (organise events together)

  • training regarding the legal frame of volunteering, security, self safety and protection and on the court (players, spectators), quick responding in case of emergencies and persons to contact in this case, pressure reaction

  • training regarding the behaviour and relation with spectators, players, organisers, beneficiaries, etc

  • training regarding non-formal methods that can be used during the activities with public

  • organising workshops, events for the public, specific targets (schools, high schools, social centres, disadvantaged communities)

  • attending fairs and local events to organise activities or promote the project

  • researching and promoting materials connected to volunteering, sports and sport volunteering, information about sports

  • photo/video materials as a way of promotion of sports, at local matches, activities with and for the public during the local matches and competitions to promote sports, volunteering and volunteering in sports

  • photo/video materials, activities with and for the public as an invitation to the sport matches and competitions happening locally

  • cultural presentations and culture sharing in events that can be common with volunteers from the same country, from other organisations

  • supporting the organisers with the logistics pre and post-event, if requested

  • performing the assigned tasks during the Baia Mare Urban Sports 2021/2022 event(s); positions can be in: promotion (spreading flyers, posters, talking to people, invite them to the matches), media work (photo, video, live streaming, interviews and articles), court support (water, balls, sand equal distribution on the playing court, sprinkle the field), team/organisers’ attaché (managing teams, giving directions/support), logistics (deal with any potential problem of the logistics), administrative (paper work, schedules, shifts, scoring, etc.), entertainment (music, games and activities in between matches or time outs), joker (replacement for any position, depending what is needed) or any other department/position that the organisation requires

  • evaluation of the event and, of their activities and involvement in weekly or monthly meetings (among themselves, with the mentor, with the coordinator, with the organisers)

  • creating the volunteering book of their activity, at the end of the event

  • competence evaluation and filling in the Youthpass certificate

A2. Short-term hosting activities - Baia Mare Urban Sports 2021

  • adjustment to and acknowledgement of the local culture and areas’ specificities

  • creating and distributing visibility/dissemination actions of the project, throughout the entire programme

  • intensive team building and getting to know each other thus to make the work in team possible and fruitful

  • training regarding the sports that will happen and the covered positions/equipment

  • training regarding the legal frame of volunteering, security, self safety and protection and on the court (players, spectators), quick responding in case of emergencies and persons to contact in this case, pressure reaction

  • training regarding the behaviour and relation with spectators, players, organisers, etc

  • supporting the organisers with the logistics pre and post-event (creating/picking up the sand courts, dis/mount the court delimitation, dis/mount the spectators chairs, un/set the banners, etc)
