Știința Explorări Baia Mare - CS UV Timișoara 3-0 (20, 18, 12)

The first home match brings the first victory. Despite having a rather low beginning from both teams, Timișoara tried to show that the set taken from Zalău was not a coincidence and almost succeeded. The gusts have led with 17-16, but then the hosts managed 3 successive points and took the lead for good. At the end of the set Răileanu's serves and David's attacks made the difference.

In the second set, the equilibrium was maintained until its half, after which Explorări blocked more balls and won it with no problems. The third set was rather fast with no important aspects.

Marius Botea (head coach Știința Explorări): ”It was a match that we were supposed to win and we did it, even if we had a bit of stress in the first set. If we would have managed to bring a universal, our game in this championship would have looked better.”

Dragoș Răileanu (captain Știința Explorări): ”We had some problems in the first set, but we pulled ourselves together and, without forcing too hard, we managed to win with the minimum number of sets.”

Sorin Schiesz (coach CS UV Timișoara): ”We had two ”matches” today. We played very good in the first set and in the first half of the second one. Then Baia Mare showed her value and the youth of our players has played an important role as well.”
