Today, Sorin Pop, celebrates 52 years. Sorin Pop is the man with the richest records from the volleyball of Baia Mare, having managed to conquer as player of Explorări, Elcond Zalău and Dinamo, three golds, a silver and three bronze medals from the national championship, three Romanian Cups, a champion title at beach volleyball and two silver medals at the European Championships dedicated to police officers.
Together with the head coach, Marius Botea, Sorin Pop prepares the team since 2004 and has records as coach one silver (2011), three forth place (2006, 2013, 2016) at the national championship, two finals of Romanian Cup (2010, 2016), a silver and three bronze medals at the Balkan Cup (2008, 2010, 2012).
