Maramures Rally is a surprising event to me, more than a speed event. The atmosphere of the event, the people who were there, the music, the photographer and the media which was covering the event in a perfect way, all of that gave the feeling how much this event is important to them!
Starting from the music and how it was cheering which we could hear from far away, the whole city was enjoying the opening of the rally even without leaving their houses. Once we arrived at the opening place I was amazed by the crowd! I didn’t expect that for a race: kids, teenagers, adults, old people, and families were enjoying it. Kids were really curious about the case and happy to see it and they were trying to experience how the driver plays with this big toy! Some of the kids kept touching it, some had an explanation about cars from their family, and some others experienced the view from the driver's seat; all these moments were not just for fun they might frame the dream of one of the kids to become among these drivers one day!
It wasn’t just for the media to cover but also all the audience were taking their pictures and videos, and here we come to old people who were really into documenting every moment in the event, some went live and some were taking videos to seize the moment of the glorious entrance of the cars.
I always had the idea that races, in general, are just for you people and it has no wide popularity; but in fact, races might make someone’s day even without leaving their houses as what happened in Baia Mare.
