Every year before the Easter fasting period starts, Murcia and whole Spain celebrates spring. Their passion and love for carnivals it’s shown every time possible. I have to say I was quite surprised that the chariots were going on every street, including mine and that so much effort is put in by schools or youth centres for this occasion.

More than 20 groups of children passed my balcony dancing in costumes of all kind, with parents and teachers aside. Carnivals are a big thing here and if there is any occasion to just dress up and have fun, Spaniards are definitely up to it.

Here’s a small photo gallery so you can light up your spirit and prepare our costume. I leave you to it now. Enjoy!
