The podcast series started in mid-April 2020 by Ana, Azer and Alejandro, the volunteers hosted by Yellow Shirts in Romania. Once the boys’ project finished I joined Ana from the 7th episode, which is about women in sports. The episodes are generally of 15 minutes and approach different subjects from the sport world.
The 7th episode brings into discussion a part of the women athletes that have brought a great contribution to the branch they were in. I have chosen to talk only about Romanian players, while Ana chose different international athletes.
Our choices are:
Nadia Comăneci (Romania) – the first perfect 10 in artistic gymnastics
Deyna Castellanos (Venezuela) – football player at Atlético Madrid
Simona Halep (Romania) – no.1 WTA in tennis for 64 weeks
Serena Williams (USA) – multiple champion in big tennis events like Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open or Australian Open
Anamaria Popescu (Romania) – world, European champion and Olympic gold medalist with the team in sabre, fencing
