Sport interviews with the locals - Sara

I had the opportunity to meet a wonderful young talent and her athletic mother at Queen Mary Park. I saw them on the tennis court and we talked about their stories.

Sara Sitar is 9 years old and already a very successful tennis player! She has been playing tennis for 6 years and she is playing for Sport Club Calin in Baia Mare. "When she was 5 years old, she played a red ball tournament for the youngest players. Even though she didn't know the rules very well because she was young, she got the final." This year she became the National Champion at U10. She also won tournaments in Cluj and Bucharest.

Her idol is Serena Williams, an American professional tennis player. Sara is very sportive and always likes to move. She wants to become a professional tennis player and I’m sure she will! She trains every day and even twice a day on holidays. She hasn’t played abroad yet due to financial issues. Sara needs a supporting team and sponsor for her future. Also, she is a left-handed player and it requires specific training.
