Sport interviews with the locals - Simona

Simona Sitar is the mother of Sara, the tennis player from last week, and a Romanian sportswoman. She lives in Baia Mare and she made great performances in boxing. At the 2014 European Women's Boxing Championships in Bucharest, she won the bronze medal. She has twice won the title of national champion in women’s boxing, 64 kg senior category. This performance brought the Romanian Boxing Federation into the national team led by coach Adrian Lăcătuș. She participated in the Women's Boxing World Championships in South Korea and achieved 5th place!

She studied physical education and sports. She has been a teacher since 2009. Although she quit boxing a few years ago, sport is always in her life. I am really glad to meet her. Simona Sitar was modest and kind enough to give me an interview where she talked about sports in her life. Her interest in her daughter and Sara’s sports life also impressed me a lot.
