First of all, you need to understand that you come to help people and for help yourself, basic but it's the beginning. Then you have to come with an open minded perspective of life and thoughts, it can be tricky to go to different places, different cultures with different people and adapt yourself. Remember that you come to help, not on vacation, what you do in your free time is up to you, but don't forget that you come here by yourself. Bring comfortable clothes, fancy clothes also, but wherever you are gonna do, you will need to be efficient and mentally prepared for meeting new people from different nationalities and ways of being. Maybe I had written so many times different, by my experience told me that nothing is the same as in my country, so be prepare to approach situations that you never thought would happen, like go into a supermarket and having troubles with saying how much it cost, or can you give me a bag? That's why I'd recommend you to learn the basic sentences of the language you will need to use. Never the less, English is always useful, in here, Romania, and for being more specific, Baia Mare, probably Italian or Spanish will help you even more. Volunteer life is a simple life, so your expectations should be low in terms of accommodation for example but in food... unless you are Muslim, you will be happy to come and try Romanian food.
